the siners photography experience

The Blog

The heart of our country is the Midwest and that is where our roots lie. But as lovers of telling a beautiful story our experience as wedding photographers and visual storytellers has taken us all over the world. You deserve to have your story told and documented and that is what we are here for. Just think, years from now you will be sitting with your grandkids flipping through your wedding album and looking back on the moment and the day that started you on your journey and began your legacy.

Today is a bittersweet day for us! Today marks the first day in over four years that our kids are not with us while we work throughout the day. (Cue the waterworks)

Zeke and Ella First Day of School 2015 2

Ella First Day of School

We have a four year old (Zeke) and a three year old (Ella) and throughout the past four years we have been very intentional about the time that we spend with our kids during these formative years of their life.  We have been blessed with a job that allows us to make our own schedule (relatively) and we schedule our life to spend as much time as we can with our kids.  We have made it a point to be apart of their day to day life and do family activities several times a week.  Our business has always come second. Obviously we have to be away from them while at photos shoots.  Although Zeke has been known to make an appearance every now and then. 🙂

Today both Zeke and Ella started preschool.  So now for a total of 9 hours a week Nathan and I will be having strategic business planning meetings.  This is the first time in 4 years Nathan and I get to put 100% focus on our business and each other for a few hours during the day. So excited to see how this time of planning and preparing will continue to grow our business and nourish our relationship!  We both have a passion for travel, missions, and coaching other photographers.  These passions have been put on the back burner for the past four years so that we could really pour into our kids.  We feel like now is the time for us to branch out and explore these passions.  We have already booked a trip to Paris and Germany in the Fall where we will be shooting an anniversary session for a past bride and groom of ours and also be shooting editorial work for a national dress company!
We are taking steps to begin putting together coaching guides and workbooks for other photographers so that when we launch our coaching sessions we have the tools and techniques we have used in our own business to help inspire and grow those just starting their photography journey. The focus of our coaching will be based on how to balance your work and family life.  We know a lot of photographers out there have families or have the desire to have families and we would love to share the things that we have learned and been able to implement in our own business as we started a family and grew our business. More details to come!

Finally, we are planning to take at least one missions trip this coming year.  It is our goal to give our gift of photography and video to organizations who serve those in need around the world.  We feel so blessed to be doing what we love and are excited to see how the few extra hours in or day continue to enable us to grow and expand our passions.
