Lindsay & Jeff are such a fun couple! We had such a blast with them at their engagement session! Here is their “Love” story:
On April 15, 2008 Lindsay traveled with her close friends to Franklin College to see Frank Warren speak about his project PostSecret. On that same night, Jeff Carl traveled alone to the same college for the same reason. Both were extremely late to the presentation and ran into one another on the campus while trying to find the right location. Jeff and Lindsay got separated but both managed to miss the entire lecture. Afterward while walking back to their cars, Lindsay and her friends ran into Jeff and convinced him to have dinner with them since everyone had missed the main reason they traveled to Franklin anyway.
Two Years Later…
On January 29, 2010 at Howl at the Moon (a piano bar in downtown Indianapolis), Lindsay ran into a man with a handlebar mustache. He claimed that they had met before and after looking closer, Lindsay discovered it was Jeff Carl under the mustache. They danced, caught up on the previous two years, and decided to meet up again soon.
A few nights later they had their first real date at Shelby Bowl. It was a very classy event with dollar shoe rentals, six smoky bowling lanes, and Smirnoff ices but Jeff and Lindsay had fun catching up and continued to date for the next few years…
Until…
In September 2012, Lindsay looked over at her and Jeff’s empty bookshelves (they were getting ready to move and everything was packed) and noticed one book on the shelf. Since she had spent all day packing those books, she was a little confused. She asked Jeff, “Why is that book on the shelf?” Instead of answering her, Jeff told her to go look at it. Lindsay was annoyed. How did one book make it from the box in the garage all the way back into the house and onto the shelf?
Nonetheless Lindsay made her way over to the shelf and picked up the book, which happened to be Frank Warren’s newest PostSecret book (Confessions of Life, Death, and God). On the inside of the book was a postcard that had not been there before. The postcard had 3 pictures on it. The first picture was from Franklin College – the first night Jeff and Lindsay met. The second picture was of Jeff and Lindsay’s one-year anniversary. The third picture made no sense to Lindsay at all. It was a picture of a ring that had nothing to do with her. She turned around to ask Jeff about it and found him on one knee. He asked “Will you marry me?” Of course Lindsay said yes and they celebrated with their favorite bottle of wine.
